Adelaide Stampex '97

Adelaide Stampex '97 a competitive National One Frame and State Philatelic exhibition was held at the Hotel Adelaide International, Brougham Place, North Adelaide, from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 August 1997.  The exhibition commemorated the 125th anniversary of the opening of the Overland Telegraph Line, and in keeping with the theme, morse code messages  were transmitted between locations within the building.  Australia Post issued a pre-stamped envelope to commemorate the anniversary, which with an appropriate pictorial cancel applied were used as exhibition souvenirs.
