Ballarat Eureka 2004 [National One Frame Exhibition]

Ballarat Eureka 2004 was held at the Ballarat Specialist School, Gillies Street, Ballarat, Victoria on the weekend of 9 & 10 October 2004.

The exhibition continued a long established tradition of twice annual philatelic fairs in Ballarat (March and October), with the important variation that in October 2004, the fair included a National One-Frame Class Exhibition under the auspices of the Australian Philatelic Federation.

The Best entry of the show (APF Award) went to Jerone Kasper (US) - New Zealand POW Aerogrammes, with the runner-up (VPC Award) being Hugh Freeman with The "Nine Pence" Victoria.   The Jury consisted of 4 members with John Sinfield as Chairman.   As per APF One Frame Regulations the initial jury of 3 was increased to 4 once the number of entries exceed 50. The exhibition also saw the book release of the Ballarat Society's history.   This is available from the Society for $10 plus postage and handling from PO Box 493, Ballarat Vic 3353.
