Dubai
19th Asian International Stamp Exhibtion
Exhibition Report from Ross Wood, Australian Commissioner
The 19th Asian International Stamp Exhibition was held in Dubai 13 to 16 November 2006 at the Dubai International Airport Exhibition Centre in the United Arab Emirates. Though the exhibition was limited to the classes of Traditional, Postal History, One Frame and Literature Australia was well represented at the Exhibition.
Gary
Brown and Malcolm Groom were on the Jury from Australia and gave
a seminar on the differences on writing up covers between a Traditional
and Postal History exhibits which was very well received. In
conjunction with the International Exhibition a local exhibition
was held for the Gulf States, with Raymond Todd the FIP Vice
President from Australia not only chairing the jury, but also
giving a seminar on One Frame Exhibiting. This seminar outlined the differences that should be exhibited in one frame by
novice/beginner exhibitors and experienced exhibitors. Experienced exhibitors should only be showing studies of one value of an issue,
or a small issue, whilst novices could display almost a whole
small country.
A special prize was awarded to Brusden-White for the best Literature Exhibit "Kangaroos and Early Federal Period 1901-12".
