| Australian Philatelic Challenge No. 4: The "MECCA" Challenge |
The Mecca Challenge concerned the philately of a country in the Middle East from Turkey to Iran and from Yemen to Iraq in any period after 1945. The challenge was launched at Canberra Stampshow 2000 and culminated at Canberra Stampshow 2006 with 8 exhibitors participating.
Rules of the Challenge
The challenge was to collect modern material and develop and exhibit from that material.
Material must be Post World War II (Post 1945 or thereabouts)
Minimum requirement is three frames and a suggested maximum of five frames.
There can be no repetition: if a country or a Class of material or a time period for that country has been nominated, then it is not available to others.
Each collector will help where possible to obtain material for another.
The country chosen must be new to the collector: the idea is to get outside the normal bounds of one's collecting interest.
