Youth Report
Cyril McColough had paid a visit to Sutherland Kid's Corner at Caringbah on Saturday, 1st. and delivered the Young Collectors magazine. Mal and Flo were going to present a theme on "Scouting" with details of the APO's new Scout stamp issues. It is hoped to introduce this theme at the SYSG in July with a special scout stamp display. The theme for the 24th April SYSG meeting will be "Australian Folk Lore." He went to Canberra Stamp Show and met Jenni Craig and Stephen Morris at the Youth Corner. Their theme was Scouting and Watermarks. Stephen had made up some more new games for the kids which provided lots of fun.
Promotions
Exhibitions - Australasian Challenge 2008:
David Collyer advised that the NSW team has been finalized with Andrew
Brockett as the novice. Closing date for entries was 30 June 2008. Multiframe
NSW State Show in 2009. Geoff Lewis advised that Lionel Savins had provided a
floor plan and that Torsten Weller is still to get back to him regarding the
venue. NESC: The status of this committee was addressed at the last meeting and
it was agreed that NESC should be a subcommittee of the PDC.
Promoting New Exhibitors:
Cyril McColough's recommendation to encourage new exhibiters was supported.
New NSW entrants will have free entry at NSW State Shows beginning with NBSE08.
The costs will be picked up by PDC. The policy will be sponsored by PDC. The
policy may be modified after the trial at NBSE08.
Current Work Program
Lionel Savins has been appointed as the PDC delegate to the APF AGM which will be held from 6-7 September 2008 in Hobart. John Sadler's implementation plan for the PDC website continues with PDC approval.
