Exhibition Report by Ross Duberal, Australian Accord Judge
Australia was invited to participate under a special arrangement as part of the Accord with the APF. The exhibition location was Rautenbach Hall in the grounds of the University of Pretoria. The event was part of the University's Centennial Celebrations and was organised by the Pretoria Philatelic Society with support from the Philatelic Services of the South African Post Office (SAPO). The Organising Committee was chaired by Professor Alex Visser who seemed to be everywhere before and during the Show and must be congratulated on the overall success that was achieved.
In attendance were 3 Postal Agencies (South Africa, Botswana, and Lesotho) and 14 dealers (4 from overseas). The jury was chaired by Michael Wigmore with 12 members and 2 apprentices. There were 77 senior, 5 literature, and 30 junior entries.

As the Australian judge on the jury I was in the teams for the classes of Postal Stationery, Open, and Literature. Helpful critique sheets were provided to the exhibitors with several additional "at the frames" suggestions for improvement. No medals were provided, only certificates to each exhibitor. There was a formal Palmares at which the Special Awards were presented. I also gave talks and supplied notes on Critiques, Title Pages, and Marcophily. Private accommodation and transport provided by Coen & Brenda Slagt was excellent and much appreciated.
